Jennifer Hudson Debuts ‘I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)’ Ft. T.I. Produced By Pharrell
It is totally cool now to be retro when it comes to making R&B music hits.
After finding success with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” superproducer Pharrell takes Jennifer Hudson on the same route for her new single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” that premiered on Saturday.
The disco-tinged song also features a verse from rapper T.I. who also contributed to turning “Blurred Lines” into a monster hit.
The hip hop star from Atlanta keeps up with the upbeat spirit of the song talking about all the fine things he has in store for his lady love.
Jennifer Hudson said that she just wants to make music fans feel good that is the reason why she is taking them back to that golden era for Soul music supporters.
Pharrell also voiced the pleasure he had doing “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” with J-Hud. He said the following on Twitter:
“I love when artists jump out the window for feel good music: I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel) by @IAMJHUD feat @Tip.”
“I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” is pretty good and we think it is safe to say that Pharrell has found a winning formula.
You take an oldie-inspired beat, you add fun and upbeat lyrics, mixed with a touch of edgy modernity in the form of a cool rapper – wash, rinse and repeat – you get an R&B hit.
This could become a template for R&B artists to become mainstream again. You can listen to it below:
Jennifer Hudson is reportedly working on the follow-up to her 2011’s album “I Remember Me” that was certified gold in the US.
Salaam Remi, RedOne and Timbaland have all contributed to the project.
What are your thoughtrs on J-Hud’s TIP-assisted track “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)”?
